A few weeks ago I mentioned I'd teamed up with Waste Management to makeover a space and use the Bagster bag.
I picked the boys' bathroom, since I'd never really given it any love and it had a really nasty toilet in it. Here's the boys' bathroom before - with a list of things I wanted to change.
Well, I loaded up the toilet in to the bag. I haven't done the pick up yet because I'm keeping it a little longer until we can cut down some dead trees in our yard and add them to the bag.
That's the beauty of the bag. You can keep it as long as you need to and then have them pick it up when you're good and ready.
There's also a debate between Mr. Roar and I between what needs to be thrown out from the basement. (No, I'm not throwing him out. I'm just showing you how big the bag is.) It will hold a LOT of stuff.

There's also a debate between Mr. Roar and I between what needs to be thrown out from the basement. (No, I'm not throwing him out. I'm just showing you how big the bag is.) It will hold a LOT of stuff.
And here's the new look of the bathroom. (FYI - I had a hard time getting great pictures with a tiny room that has no natural light. Sorry!)
I removed the shelf and painted the room a really pale gray.
I made some fun boy bathroom prints to hang throughout the space. (More on that HERE.)
We replaced the toilet.
I purchased the shower curtain and towels from Target. They're an orangish-red that I love. Rex actually pick out the shower curtain. He's got good taste :)
Eventually I'd like to frame the mirror, but that's a future project.
There are four prints, but I based them all on things boys tend to love - vikings, pirates, superheroes, and dinosaurs. I saw some on etsy that were girl ones like "Even princesses have to floss." However, I couldn't find anything boyish.
Here's a better look at them. I'll also give you a little more HERE if you're interested in purchasing them.
Thank you to the Bagster bag for helping us make this renovation.
If you missed my first post about the Bagster, you can find it HERE. It's perfect for home improvements projects where you don't need a full dumpster. It's $29.95 for the bag and pick up costs very. (Mine is $79 for example.) You can find the Bagster bag on their web site HERE, on Facebook HERE, and on Twitter HERE.
Today we are giving away a $100 AmEx gift card, courtesy of Waste Management. To enter, leave a comment about the Bagster. For one additional enter you may tweet about the giveaway, using the tag @bagsterbag. US residents only. Giveaway ends Tuesday, July 10th. Be sure to leave a method of contact in case you win.

The bagster looks like an easy alternative to renting a dumpster. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the "boyish" bathroom prints. I can't wait to hear how to get my hands on a set. I've been searching for months for something to help remind the boys about their bathroom duties and these are the perfect thing!
ReplyDeleteLoving this! Those prints are too fun! I just might have to redo the hallway bathroom around them :) Once again awesome job momma!
ReplyDeleteCute prints-love the minimalist look. The Bagster Bag seems like a great solution-and kinda fun to see how much you can stuff in it!
ReplyDeleteLove the bathroom and could definitely use a bagster for MY basement! (And maybe my husband if he keeps making me throw things away from the basement ;D)
ReplyDeleteThe Bagster looks really easy to use!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had the bagster when we cleaned out our basement - great product! Love the new bathroom!
ReplyDeletethose bathroom prints are genious! and I think we need that bag here!
ReplyDeleteWe've used a bagster in the past for a remodel and would do it again in a heartbeat! Really easy and convenient.
ReplyDeleteWe just moved into a new home and man, a bagster would have come in handy. Glad to know for next time!
ReplyDeleteThose bathroom prints are so cute! too bad I don't have any boys
ReplyDeleteWe used the Bagster just a few weeks ago to get rid of a toilet after a bathroom reno and a bunch of old deck pieces after a deck reno. It was great- so easy to use!
ReplyDeleteThat Bagster is genius!! Love the new bathroom!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Bagster may be my go to solution!
ReplyDeleteYour bath looks great. I've got one that needs a lot more help than that, but I actually think the bag might still be able to hold it all.
ReplyDeleteThe bagster idea is definitely smart. Cleanup must be a cinch.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember the bagster for the future when we get out of an apartment and into a house!
ReplyDeleteI love that you put a toilet in the bags ther! 1-stop dumping love it! Esgrogg@msn.com
ReplyDeleteCool! We are doing a bunch of house projects so i'll have to remember that!
ReplyDeleteolympicsleeper(at)hotmail(dot)com
We have had a lot of storms and heavy winds here which = trees and limbs everywhere! I would so rock a bagster right about now!
ReplyDeleteholls_y{at}hotmail(dot)com
The bagster would be perfect for my home improvement projects, especially since I don't have a large vehicle to haul away big rubbish! Plus, I love Mike, my WM garbage man! He is the friendliest person I've ever met! Our entire city admires him!
ReplyDeleteI just told my husband that we need to get a bagster after culling our basement storage last weekend. I know most of it can be donated, but I might convince him with a trip out to the barn to look at all our extra storage...
ReplyDeletedeals81(at)hotmail(dot)com
We could definitely use a bagster when we get around to helping my mom clean out her storage units. (yes, plural) I love that it costs you the same no matter how long you keep it, unlike a normal dumpster.
ReplyDeleteAnd the bathroom prints are so cool!
I wish our garbage company had a "bagster-esque" option....Sadly, it's not to be...I would put that thing to some SERIOUS use! I love how the boys' bathroom turned out. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I could so use that Bagster to clean out the garage!! That would be awesome!!! Also, I loved the prints for the boys' bathroom!! Super cute :)
ReplyDeleteTHanks for sharing!!
That bagster could definitely come in handy around here where we pay for every single bag of trash...makes even small project cleanups expensive and annoying.
ReplyDeleteBagster = genius. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely use a bagster for my remodeling project next month. The cost is perfect for my budget.
ReplyDeleteAlos, I love how the bathroom turned out.
ladyt9903@hotmail.com
Wow, I don't know that 'bag' is the right word, maybe huge pit!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the prints.
What a great idea that bagster is! I think that's genius.
ReplyDeleteThat Bagster looks amazing! I could definitely use one of those for when we clean out the building behind our house. Love the bathroom redo...I also have 2 boys, so I love ideas on redecorating rooms for them! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Bagster looks far preferable to keeping everything in the garage and slowly throwing it out in our regular weekly trash can, which is something my husband has done. Ironically, I do know that a toilet will fit in our regular trash can!
ReplyDeleteI just had a new baby and need to move my girls downstairs...but the rooms are full of all the junk we don't want too see upstairs. I could use the bagster. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove that bagster idea and love, love, love the boys bathroom (i have 3 boys and need to re-do theirs).
ReplyDeletesnsfan (at) hotmail (dot) com
I think we will be looking into the bagster soon! We have a few DIY projects that I want to get going on....was wondering how much they could hold! Erin

O.M. Stars -- our Garage is the Black Hole of the neighborhood! Everything goes there to die. One Giant Bagster would be a tremendous start towards actually seeing the floor once again.
ReplyDeletewhat a good option. Only wish I knew about the dumpster sooner!
ReplyDeleteI like how the bagster isn't an eyesore in your front yard till the project is done. It's perfect for those little projects. :) Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great alternative to a full size dumpster! The bagster would've been really handy while we were packing to make our cross country move!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea! So excited to use the Bagster on our upcoming bathroom remodel - we're doing a complete tear-out and remodel. The Bagster seems like a great alternative to a dump box. A LOT less expensive too. contact: ashleigh dot miller at gmail
ReplyDeleteI've always been confused as to what to do with home improvement extras, and the bagster looks like a great solution for large scale projects! tari.mcdonald@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy next remodel we are definitely going the bagster route. No more dump trips for us:)
ReplyDeleteThe bagster seems pretty convenient! I don't think we have anything that would need it now, but maybe one day!
ReplyDeletesarah8914 at gmail dot com
wow, this bagster bag would have been so useful when we moved last summer- we had so much that needed to be thrown out, and the neighborhood dumpster was really far away. this would have been a much easier solution! josoundshopeful@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThe bagster is such a good idea! I LOVE the prints you designed for the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteOoooo......Wish I had known about bagster when we were doing the tear out for our kitchen remodel a couple of weeks ago. It would have saved us a couple of trips to the dump. So convenient!
ReplyDeleteThat bagster thing looks totally awesome! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteemilyraegarman(at)hotmail(dot)com
I love the Bagster idea! Go WM! :o) Your bathroom makeover is awesome, too! dlb1timothy412(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I really love what you ended up doing to freshen up your bathroom.
ReplyDeleteThe bagster looks like a great alternative to renting a dumpster, I'll have to keep that in mind.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new bathroom! It looks super cute....as for the free give away...you know where to find me! :)
ReplyDeleteThe bagster is a great option for home remodeling.
ReplyDeleteJennie.strong@gmail.com
DeleteI'm so frustrated I'd like to put the Entire basement in a Bagster! That is a great product! Love the prints you made!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I would have an easy time filling up a bagster bag with unwanted larger items that need to go away! Thanks for an awesome giveaway, and love the bathroom update.
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us about the bagster, it's great to know about it. And the bathroom turned out great!
ReplyDeleteWe just moved into a house that needs a lot of TLC. The bagster would be perfect for us! Thanks for the info and a great give away.
ReplyDeleteljwalk(at)hotmail(dot)com
That bag is huge!! Wow!! What a great resource for future projects!
ReplyDeleteAlso- love the posters you made!!
Hmm, this might bee what we need to get our basement cleaned up!
ReplyDeleteWe really wanted to use the bagster for our side yard heap, but sadly they are not in our area yet. Beautiful redo! Simple and sweet and I love the orange and prints. So fun!
ReplyDeleteThe Bagster looks like a perfect solution to all those DIY projects!
ReplyDeleteLove the bathroom! Especially the framed artwork. :)
meljoy45 @ gmail
The Bagster sounds nice to use. Do you just call WM when you are ready for pickup? Thanks for sharing your bathroom redo.
ReplyDeleteThese are so convenient. I'll need to keep them in mind next time we need it.
ReplyDeleteI suspect i could fill up that bagster in no time....
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is fantastic, but wouldn't a T-Rex have a hard time flossing? :)
I think this Bagster Idea is amazing. We plan on two bathroom remodels in the near future and this might be what we need!
ReplyDeleteThe Bagster looks very convenient. I've wondered how much it costs to have a personal dumpster for a day! thanks
ReplyDeleteAwesome bathroom! Can you put anything in those bags. I love the idea for getting rid of outside waste.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I could fill up a Bagster in a jiffy if I cleaned out our garage! :-)
ReplyDeleteDaisy_Barbosa@yahoo.com
So perfect for projects that result in a lot of waste, but so much cheaper than a dumpster rental! I will keep this in mind for the future!

Oh that would be fantastic for people remodeling apartments or condos! no huge dumpster taking up everyone else's parking spaces and making a huge mess! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI have a solution for your mirror! We went so we can't do anything permanent. Washi tape is my secret weapon! Just put some all around the mirror and it will look awesome. I went a little crazy in our kitchen, all the cupboards and draws are done up with chevron tape and ever time we move i get new tapes.
ReplyDeleteThe prints are just too funny! And you're little man does have good taste! He picked out a fun shower curtain.
ReplyDeleteThat bag really is great for small/medium remodel projects! It's such a pain to rent a dumpster and have it sitting in your driveway or yard the whole time, but this is much less conspicuous.
ReplyDeleteI think the Bagster looks like something that I would like to try out
ReplyDeleteBagster = Genuis idea!! We have been renovating for 10 months and could have used one of those bags at least a million different times! I am definitely going to investigate.
ReplyDeletePS - Those bathroom prints are soooo cute! And I love the striped shower curtain. So simple and so impactful.
This Bagster thing is a really cool idea! I never would have thought of it before and kudos to the people who did. Now, I just need to get a hold of one...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome post, as always.

My bathroom needs to be gutted because the floor is rotted, the faucets leak, and the shower drain dumps into the basement. I need a Bagster!
ReplyDeleteCute prints! I wish I could get a Bagster for my parents' home. Unfortunately, my dad is a bit of a hoarder, and some stuff needs to go. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletelindzlou_love[at]yahoo[dot]com
Those bathroom prints are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteLove your bathroom! A Bagster would be great for us right now... we're needing to get rid of A LOT of stuff right now to make room for a new baby. I have a feeling that between my current craft/guest room (soon to be baby's room), junk in my own room, and our garage, we could probably fill a few of them!
ReplyDeleteI think the Bagster is a great idea, because half the battle is finding a place to put your old crap you want to throw out.
ReplyDeleteThe bagster is a great idea - I have seen it put to good use during my neighbor's renovations. Love the bathroom prints!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the intro to the bagster. Better alternative to a dumpster!

My husband and I had a very interesting conversation where I tried to describe the Bagster to him over the phone after your last post. I'll have to remember to show him the pictures when he gets home (he works over the road and is only home once a month) so that he understands what I was talking about!
ReplyDeleteWow, that bag is amazingly big!
ReplyDeletelhyink at mac dot com
This looks like a great product. I will have to remember it when I have a big project to take care of.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were just thinking about tackling the huge project of completely gutting and redoing our flower beds and weren't sure how to dispose of everything we'd be digging out. The Bagster seems like it would be fantastic for that!
ReplyDeleteUr bathroom looks great and the bagster is cool!
ReplyDeleteThe bagster seems so handy! It would be really great for backyard cleanups.
ReplyDeleteDigging the shower curtain, reminds me of the ones i see in westelm catalog. If I had that bagster, maybe I'd finally clean out my basement once and for all. I think my neighbor had something similar, he offered us to add some of our junk but I didn't have enough time to sort. Good luck on the clean out, let me know who wins the debate over what to throw out, husband vs. wife showdowns are always good.
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom came out soo cute! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the bathroom re-do. Those framed quotes are so cute, and I love the orange. What a fun room. That Bagster really came in handy. What would you do with the toilet if you didn't have the Bagster to help you get rid of it. Makes me want to do some big cleaning and clearing out! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI HAVE TO HAVE THOSE BATHROOM PRINTS!!!! :) Please tell us soon! I am hopin they are thrifty! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to redo my bathroom too. I love your blog bucko
ReplyDeletemaren.dearden@gmail.com
The bagster looks very practical! It would be helpful for a spring cleaning! stobeiter [at] gmail [dot] com
ReplyDeleteWow- we're buying a house that needs some love and the Bagster would be a perfect start!
ReplyDeleteThis would be awesome, since a kitchen remodel/carpet redoing is in the near future!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Cheri! The bathroom looks like a whole new place. I wish our community did Bagster. We had a horrible storm a week ago that dumped tons of debris in our yard. It's a pain getting rid of it! Great job on those prints, they are adorable!
ReplyDeleteWow love the prints, just spent the other weekend deep cleaning my boy's bathroom. Would love those prints for encouragement.Okay so my youngest isn't toilet trained yet and has no teeth, but having two boys as you probably know, a girl can get outnumbered, well done on the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI could totally use a Bagster for some yard/fence/doghouse things I need to send to the dump! Loving the bathroom prints, too. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see one of those bags I think I should get one! Love the color choice in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great way to clean house =)
ReplyDeletejoellenzafacon at gmail dot com
I could really fill that Bagster up! :D
ReplyDeleteBagster would be a great option for us as we have a townhome with a tiny driveway and tiny garage.....but just enough room for this!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the info on the prints! The bagster looks like a great idea for use with multiple small projects!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first i've heard of bagster, looks handy wish we had one a few weeks ago after our garage sale!
ReplyDeleteGreat bathroom redo. Wish I had your creativity and energy...I'd put one of those bagsters to use in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeletei've seen these at walmart for like $30, will be using one when we redo our garage

ReplyDeleteI love this!
